As a fan of science fiction, fantasy, movies, comics, graphic novels, art and writing, I spend my days in late July and early August trolling the online sites that will keep me informed of what's going on at Comic Con in San Diego. One of my favorite activities is to watch the “Conversations for a Cause”a charity event created by Zachary Levi to support Projects Smile . This event was sited by BuzzFeed as one of the big winners of the convention.
Nerd HQ, presented by The Nerd Machine, returned to Petco Park in San Diego (July 24-27),
as in years with their expanded philanthropic panel series “Conversations for a Cause”. " In the past the panel series has played host to some of the biggest names in pop-culture including Joss Whedon, Seth Green, Richard Madden, Tom Hiddleston, Stan Lee, Lucy Liu, Zac Quinto, Felicia Day, Scott Bakula, Tatiana Maslany, Vin Diesel, and Guillermo Del Toro just to name a few. Fans who do attend these panels pay $22 to get in but all funds raised through panel ticket sales go directly to support Operation Smile in its mission to help improve the health and lives of children all over the world" A packed house will bring in $6000 for one panel.
Below are the Panelists that came this year and I am still watching them on You Tube. Thanks Nerd HQ and Zachary Levi for your “Conversations for a Cause”.
